Dr. Rimmer has been working in the field of burn injury for 28 years. During her tenure at the Arizona Burn Center, a verified US Burn Center of Excellence, she served as the Family Service Director and also as the Director of Psycho/Social/Prevention Research. The Arizona Burn Center is one of the busiest burn centers in the nation. Dr. Rimmer was responsible for assisting victims and their families with their rehabilitative needs. She also developed research protocols and published and lectured regarding psycho/social and pain management issues on a national and international level. She has been working with burn victims and their families for 28+ years and providing life care plans across the nation for burn, electrical, amputation, trauma, and spinal cord injured individuals for over 17 years. She has also authored and lectured extensively on the important aspects of burn and electrical injury-related life care plans. Rimmer is fluent in Spanish and has considerable experience in deposition and trial testimony for both plaintiff and defense firms.

Denise Atwood has worked in the field of nursing for over 30 years. Ms. Atwood’s clinical and professional experience covers a variety of areas including the Adult and Pediatric ICU, Trauma, Burn, Emergency Room and Surgical nursing as well as Employee Health, Infection Control, Compliance, and Risk Management. She is also a Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP).
Ms. Atwood previously taught college classes focusing on health law and ethics as an adjunct professor at both Ottawa University and the University of Phoenix. She is currently an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University teaching ethics and legal issues in business. She also conducts nurse ethics evaluations, upon referral from the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Ms. Atwood has been a licensed attorney for over 14 years. She represents providers before the medical board, represents providers during fact witness testimony, and conducts appellate brief writing.
After graduation from law school, Ms. Atwood worked as a Medicare Set Aside contractor for Medivest. This experience ties in nicely with her life care planning work. She is a published author and has presented regionally and nationally on a multitude of topics ranging from health care law, ethics, compliance, risk management, and nursing.
